Q How do I apply for a place for my child in Y7 and when will I know if my application has been successful?

Applications can be done online using the unique reference number in the letter send to you by the Local Authority using the web address below:

The deadline for applications is 31/10/2021.  If you apply on line your decision will be emailed to you or can be viewed at the web address above on 1 March 2022, all letters are posted to parents on 1 March 2022 by second class post.

Q How early can my child arrive in school and where can they go?

The academy has a breakfast club which is open from 8:15am where students can have a free breakfast  The Learning  Resource Centre is open from 8:15am if they need to print off homework or want to sit and read quietly.

Q  How much are school dinners and what do they do if they forget their dinner money?

School dinners are £2.15  and on line payments for our catering facility can be made via our online payment portal ParentPay (https://www.parentpay.com/).  Each student has a unique account where you can enter payments for catering and other services provided by the academy.  Students can also top up their account using the machines in the academy atrium. Parents can also access detailed usage which will allow you to see what your child has eaten each day and how much they have spent.  Students can spend up to £5 each day however you can request an amendment to this by either writing to the finance office at the academy or via email (finance@theallsaints.net).

Q Where do I buy uniform from?

All uniform orders can be made direct to our supplier using their website (where access to the internet is an issue, the academy can facilitate a paper based orders via reception).  Details for all uniform orders and enquiries are: www.sptuniforms.co.uk , Tel: 0113 245995. Ties can be purchased from the academy parentpay shop.

Q What is the structure of the school day?

Students should be in school by 8:20am and the first lesson begins at 8:25am with the last lesson finishing at 2:30pm, there is voluntary enrichment from 2:30pm-3:30pm. There are 5 x 1 hour lessons, a 15 minute break and a 30 minute lunch.

Q What happens if my child is ill during the day?

We do not have a school nurse.  If your child has an accident in school then the designated first aider will deal with it as necessary, equally if your child becomes unwell during the day they should see the first aider who will assess them.  We will not give your child paracetamol without gaining consent from you.

It is vital that you let us know if your contact details change so that we can contact you in case of emergency.

Q What happens if we need to contact our child urgently?

If it is urgent please contact the academy reception and they will arrange to pass the message on. Please be aware this is for emergencies only and general family arrangements should be made before children come to school. 

Q What do I do if my child is being bullied?

We would suggest that you encourage your child to talk to either their form tutor or Year Learning Manager to tell them what is happening.  We also have a number of Beat Bullying mentors in school who are trained to support children who are being bullied.  The academy takes incidents of bullying seriously and will not tolerate bullying of any kind and has a clear anti bullying policy.

Q Does the academy have student lockers?

Yes, students can purchase a padlock from reception for £5.00, they can use their locker for the whole of their time at the academy. 

Q What GCSE/KS4 Options do you offer?

We are committed to offering a wide range of both academic and vocational subjects in order to ensure that our students are able to access the relevant qualifications that allow them to progress on to their chosen path way in Post 16 education.

Currently students in Y10-11 all study – English Language, English Literature, Maths, Science and Core PE.  Students then have the opportunity to select from a range of options. 

It is important to reiterate that we regularly review our curriculum and that we will respond positively to the changes that the government introduces.  We would always strive to ensure that students are able to study the options that they want to experience, though like with any school there are always some limitations on group sizes etc.

Q Can we visit the school with our child/children before they start in September if we can’t attend open evenings?

We welcome parents and children to visit the academy but ask that it is by appointment so we can make sure there is a member of staff available to show you round and answer any questions you may have on the day.
