Update from the Academy

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Re: Update from the Academy

As we begin the last week of this half term, I wanted to take this opportunity to provide you with an update from the academy as follows.

June 7th -Return to the academy

 Our academy start and finish times for all year groups will move back to our original timings;

THE ACADEMY DAY

Arrival on site / Breakfast Club

8.15-8.20

Warning bell

8:20

Period 1

8.25-9.25

Period 2

9.25-10.25

Break / Collective Worship / Form Learning Time

10.25-11.00

Period 3

11.00-12.00

Period 4 / staggered lunch

12.00-1.30

Period 5

1.30-2.30

Enrichment Activities

2.30-3.30

These times will be reviewed regularly and adjusted if needed.  We will consult with parents / carers if there are any changes moving forward.

Year groups will remain in their own ‘bubbles’ and will not be allowed to mix with other year groups in the academy.

Year groups will have their own ‘zones’ within the academy and the majority of their lessons (except for specialist teaching such as PE, Technology, Music, Computing, Art and Science) will be taught in their zones.  Teaching staff will come to the students as opposed to the students moving.

Students will follow a curriculum and lesson structure which is as close as possible to that which they are familiar with.  Minor adjustments may need to be made to allow for our new working arrangements and to ensure all students are safe.

The main hall will remain as a second dining space to enable year groups to separate at break and lunch times

There will be no canteen open before school, students will be asked to arrive on or as near as possible to their start time and go straight to their lessons. A breakfast club provision will be available in “zones” at the start of Period 1. Students should not arrive early to attend Breakfast club

Communication

All communication with parents is via the school gateway app.  You can register for an account on the School Gateway website (www.schoolgateway.com) where you will be able to view the desk top version.  Alternatively, you may wish to download the free smartphone app available on Apple and Android supported devices.  All you need to register is the email address and mobile number we have on record for you.  If you have problems activating your account or logging in, it may be because we don’t have your current email and mobile phone number on record. Please contact the academy so that we can check our records if you are unable to access the website or app.
