Easter Update from the Academy

Dear Parent/carer,

Update from the Academy

As we reach the end of a busy 3 weeks with the students returning to face to face teaching I wanted to take this opportunity to write to you with an update with some key pieces of information.

Lateral Flow Testing at Home

Following the success of the asymptomatic testing programme on the return to school and college, the DfE have announced that testing at home should continue throughout the Easter holidays and into the summer term.

  • test twice a week at home from now on (all those who are able to)
  • report results as positive, negative or void. This information is critical in helping to understand the prevalence of the virus across the country
  • continue to test twice weekly over the Easter holidays
  • test before returning to school for the summer term, either the night before, or morning of, the first day back

Students will be given tests for the Easter break before Friday, please continue to report the results to the NHS and the academy using the following links:

If you have more than one child in the academy you should ensure you complete one form per child.  Please note that the Lateral Flow Tests are for asymptomatic testing only, if your son/daughter shows symptoms of COVID-19 you should book a PCR test on Get a free PCR test to check if you have coronavirus - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) and follow the national guidelines on self isolation and testing. Further information is available on Understanding lateral flow antigen testing for people without symptoms - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).A negative LFT result does not guarantee that you are not carrying the virus. So, you should continue to follow social distancing, and other measures to reduce transmission such as wearing a face mask and regularly washing your hands and observing social distancing.

Academy Expectations

Following the Easter break we will be reminding students about the expectations we require all students to follow for the benefit of our school community.  Further information is available on the academy website Student Expectations | Rossington All Saints Academy (theallsaints.net)
