Physical & Creative Faculty

Areas of the Faculty
In this faculty students will take part in a variety of learning activities based around the subjects of Art, Music and Physical Education.
Curriculum
Lessons will involve students either performing or creating which requires the development of specific skills, to think independently and at times work co-operatively with their peers. On some occasions students may even be asked to take on the role of leader during activities.
The learning experiences within the faculty are varied and challenging. Students may be involved in animations or photography in Art and Design, whilst in Drama they may perform a production at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre. In Physical Education students will find themselves participating in a range of activities using state of the art sporting facilities, such as the third generation football pitch and the fitness suite.
For students to achieve their full potential within this faculty they must have a willingness to try new things and become engaged in the learning activities.
Leadership Academy
Through the development of JSLA we have established an excellent Leadership Academy where students in Year 11 and 12 are trained in a wide variety of leadership qualifications, which include CSLA, multi sports, rounders level 1, football level 1, first aid.
Leadership Academy roles include supporting and running extra curricular activities at Rossington and its feeder schools along with planning and running events, intra house competions and festivals.
Expectations
Students are expected to complete all work set in lessons and hand homework in on time. Teachers are expected to plan exciting and engaging lessons which will provide stimulating and challenging learning activities.
