What is Extended Learning?

Extended learning is an activity directed by a teacher (or by a parent in the case of the websites outlined overleaf) that is undertaken by students outside of lesson time. This could be in school (support sessions) or at home during evenings or at weekends. Traditionally we have labelled it as homework, but we want our students to be aware that homework no longer describes the demands of this work. The tasks set, are individual tasks that extend the work carried out in lessons, and are additional to any ‘finishing off' work that students may still be required to complete.
