World Book Day

3rd March 2017

Pupils went wild for World Book Day on 2nd March.  During the day pupils from years 7, 8 & 10 took part in workshop activities surrounding the novel by David Weisner 'Flotsam'.  They produced a vast range of pieces of literacy based activities from TV adverts, diary entries, descriptions and poetry.

During form time, all pupils had the opportunity to guess which teachers were reading in unusual places.  Over the course of the year, teachers had taken covert pictures of themselves reading on beaches, whilst go-karting and whilst straddling two tectronic plates between North America and Europe!  Pupils also had to search for answers to another reading quiz.  All day, members of staff had been wearing some rather unusual badges with the answers to the quiz.  A very busy (but very fun) World Book Day, I'm sure you'll agree!
