Active Fusion Cycle to Schools Across the Borough

A team of sport and educational workers are setting off on a cycling challenge to bring students in Doncaster active credits to help them kick start their fitness during the week which marks 200 days before the Olympic Games start. The team, from Active Fusion, will be cycling 45 miles on January 11 to visit five lucky schools following a route pulled out of the hat, in the style of football draws by South Yorkshire based World Cup referee Howard Webb.
Lindsy Gray, Partnership Development Manager for Active Fusion said: "As a leading sports coaching, education and training provider we wanted to do something to inspire the young people in the borough to get the most out of an active life. We will be delivering active credits to the five winning schools which will allow them to use our expertise to provide a range of activities for their students. We were delighted that Howard Webb was able to join us for the draw and give us his backing for what we hope will be a fun packed day."
More than 40 schools were put into the draw and the five winners, as drawn by Howard Webb are: The Hayfield School, Thorne Green Top, St Josephs Catholic Primary School, Toll Barr Primary School, Barnburgh Primary School. Howard said: "I'm sorry that FA commitments mean that I can't take part in the cycle with the team today but I wish them all the best. The work they do across Doncaster is fantastic and they work hard to inspire people with their innovative work."
Active Fusion exists to provide opportunities for both young people and adults through innovative sports coaching and curriculum programmes. To see Howard Webb drawing out the schools visit www.youtube/llc6_WmDWds For further details about Active Fusion visit www.activefusion.org.uk.
