Year 9 Students Greet the Russian Cosmonauts

Students in Year 9 were set the challenge to design space suits in order to win a fantastic opportunity to meet Russian Cosmonauts.

As a result of some really innovative designs some 40 students travelled to the Dome on 3 June to meet Alexander Volkov and Alexander Martynov two very high profile Cosmonauts who who lived and worked on the space station Mir.

The visit was yet another exciting initiative from the schools Science team as part of the RA3 project and provided the students with an excellent grasp of issues relating to space travel.
