Community Work with Luther King

Luther King House students have been working hard over the last term to consider how they can improve the community they live and work within.  Students were given the task of envisaging a project or activity that they could design and plan that would involve the community, and benefit many people of all ages.  The students within the house came up with some great ideas ranging from a community car wash, an OAP afternoon of bingo and dancing, to a bun bake right up to a Rosso's Got Talent competition.

The house has decided to support the charity 'Bluebell wood' in its project, and any money raised during the planned events will go to the worthy cause.  So for this half term, students have elected to do a Bun Bake, a Rosso's Got Talent  competition and a visit to a local Residential care home.  The students will now work on when the events will take place, how it will be promoted to the community and how it will raise money.  So WATCH THIS SPACE - if you have a talent we want to see you at the Talent Show (date to be confirmed), and if you're a master chef we want to see some of your cakes sent into school to raise some money for 'Bluebell Wood'.
