
Rossington All Saints win Technology Challenge
On 17th April the team 'Olympic Rings' made up of Year 10's Laura Pearman, Daniel Searston, Kelly Hewitson and Kerry Naughton won the Food Technology Challenge "To design a product for the Olympics" at Balby Carr School.
The winning product was a delicious hand held Chinese themed puff pastry product with two options, for vegetarians and non vegetarians. The product included many chinese ingredients e.g. star anise, cardamon, cinnamon, fennel seeds, turia, pak choi, bamboo shoots and shittake mushrooms.
Judges included the managing director of King Asia Foods (the company who set the challenge) and a local councillor.
Mrs Phillips said " the pupils did really well with a very challenging brief. They enjoyed visiting the King Asia Foods Factory and using the chinese ingredients.
The prize includes having the product put into production in the factory.
