All Saints Students Win a Prestigious Award in Maryland USA
Last week Chris Lindsay (Head of E&E Faculty) escorted a group of Y10 students to Maryland over in the USA. The students were there to compete in the International Robotics Competition.
Alongside students from Campsmount, NDTC and Ridgewood our group had 6 weeks to design and build a human size robot to race around a 100 metre track whilst knocking down balls from and overpass and carrying them. The preparation for the event took a fantastic amount of hard work and vision for what it was they wanted to achieve.
Our group took on 63 teams from across America to include teams from Hawaii and managed to gain the first ever award for a British team at the event. The team received an award for their unique efforts, performance and dynamics and were obviously thrilled to do so.
This opportunity and the outcomes represent fantastic achievement for the students but also for the school and massive congratulations go out to all that were involved.
Well Done!
