Care and Guidance

Outstanding Care and Guidance at our school

What we are aiming for

The school* has a comprehensive understanding of achievements and personal development of all students; it uses the information well to plan and provide for students' academic and personal needs; students are proud of their achievements. The school values highly students' efforts and personal achievements; the school is highly successful in motivating and developing students in vulnerable groups.

In practical terms the outcomes for students of such work are:

Good or outstanding

  • Attendance
  • Punctuality
  • Academic progress - meeting or exceeding national targets
  • Behaviour and conduct

But just as importantly they

  • Enjoy a healthy lifestyle
  • Show high levels of confidence, responsibility & teamwork
  • Are aware of , enjoy and value diversity
  • Make a contribution to the whole community in its fullest sense
  • Exhibit a high level of pride and self-esteem.
  • Display a responsible attitude to their future well-being and that of others
  • Develop personally, socially, morally and spiritually.

* We could replace school here with the word tutor, teacher, leader, support staff - ie we each have an individual responsibility here
