Physical Education is an opportunity for students to develop their social, physical and mental well-being. We offer an extensive and varied curriculum that allows all learners an opportunity to succeed whether that would be through performing, leading or demonstrating a theoretical understanding of sport and physical education. Through high quality teaching and learning we provide engaging and challenging lessons with the aim of instilling a lifelong passion for sport and physical education. Throughout our curriculum we strive to build an ethos around teamwork where learners collaborate to overcome challenges giving them a sense of togetherness and pride.

Possible pathways

Sport Studies – This course would provide a solid foundation for students who wanted to progress to study OCR Sport level 3. Additionally, the course has strong links with English, where students will be required to formulate coherent assignments. Furthermore, some aspects of the course link with Practical sport and leadership, with particular focus on the role that Sport plays within society which could lead to future careers in Sports coaching, Sports analysis and journalism. 

Sport Science – This course would provide a solid foundation for students who wanted to progress to study OCR Sport level 3. Additionally, the course has strong links with English, where students will be required to formulate coherent assignments. Furthermore, some aspects of the course link with Nutrition, Principles of training and sports injuries which could lead to future careers in Sports diet and nutrition, Gym instructor, Physiotherapy and many other roles within Sport and physical education.
